Defaults on credit file

Hi, i have a few defaults on my credit file and have been looking around at how long they are on there for and some people are saying 6 years.. but if they have still not been completely paid will they be removed??

Also i had a few items from the time i just turned 18 (im 27 now) and went credit crazy... mobile phone bill that got cancelled because i didnt pay and a credit card that got out of control and i was expecting to see them on there and tey weren't.. they were not completely paid off so could i still be chased for this?? could it be sold to a collection agency and could they then put it back on my credit file???

i hope you can understand what i am getting at it seems clearer in my mind :rotfl:

Defaulted accounts are removed from your credit file after 6 years, paid or not.

Ones that have already come off, like the ones from when you were 18, cannot be put back on again. Even if the debt is passed to a debt collector now.

It doesn't matter what the credit account is.

Defaulted accounts are removed from your credit report 6 years after the default.

The only way they can stay on longer is if a CCJ is later awarded on them. But that is a separate 'judgement' entry, not a default.
