Someone has been trying to buy things on credit from Littlewoods using my name and address. I got a letter from them saying that the credit has been refused and suggesting that I contact their credit reference agency, Equifax. I tried to get a "Free" credit report from Equifax but they insist on taking my Credit Card number - which I won't give them - after all, why do they need it if it is free?
I can't see any way around this on the web site. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed.
BTW, to add to the confusion, my credit card billing address is not my home address.

A free credit report is one of those scummy deals where you are actually subscribing to a monthly credit report for £15 a month or some similar amount - after a 'free' trial. So you will nee to give a credit card or some means of payment. Better to get a £2 statutory report.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Makes sense about the monthly credit report. I will just do the £2 report only.0
