Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone knows of a kitchen bin that has 3 compartments to help with recycling. I fed up of putting all the cans and bottles on the windowsill. At the moment i have 2 small bins 1 for green bin waste and 1 for black bin waste. I really dont want to get another for the blue box as i havn't got the room.

3rd item down has 3 compartments
Our council operates a different system, but finding places to keep everything is always a problem.0 -
I found this for you billycasper, is that the kind of thing you mean??
If so, it's a reasonable price, there are others but they are in the £80 - £100 region  not very moneysaving  You can also check the useful links sticky at the top of the green board for links to shopping, where you might find another alternative.

Ikea do stacking bins in at least 2 sizes. We have the bigger size x 3 IIRC they weren't that exensive. We use them for this very purpose. Although we can store about 1 bin bag of recyclables in each bin, they don't take up much space because they stack.
That way you can have as many as you like.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
Noticed that Doncaster council - do these for free! RRP is about £35 so worth it if you live in the Doncaster area and still have some in stock. http://www.doncaster.gov.uk/Living_in_Doncaster/Environment/Recycling/Bokashi_Bins.aspGive somebody a hug it costs nothing

Wow , you've really got me thinking now. I like the bokashi bins but unfortunatley i dont live in doncaster. I might ring my local council up and see whats on offer there. The stacking ones sound good too but what are they called. i cant find them on the ikea website. i'm typing in "bins" when i guess i should be typing in some obscure scandanavian word like mefp..
but seriously cheers guys. thats a real help.
I knew mse wouldn't let me down0 -
Lakeland do this kind of bin or bags, but they're quite pricy. http://www.lakelandlimited.co.uk/ and look for recycling
We tend to hang carrier bags from the kitchen door handle (never shut) for tins and bottles, then put them in the Black Box when full. Then we have a mini compost bin, a mini food waste bin, and a small bin for cardboard beside the kitchen bin. Then we have a large bin in the dining room for plastic bottles, which we have to take to the supermarket! Explaining to visitors where it all goes is a bit of a nightmare!Signature removed for peace of mind0
