My OH wants me to make it and Ive looked at quite a few recipes which all seem slightly different.
It seems I need to make some paneer but having looked a the cheese making thread on here and other websites, there are lots of different ways of making it and sometimes people describe the stuff they've made as paneer, others as ricotta and others as cottage cheese
Has anyone made a really easy rasa malai which wont take too long or be too complicated?

Hi
Most peopel buy a packet of the rasmali mixture for under a £1 and then you just need to add milk and that has full instructions on how to make it and it tastes wonderful. The mixture can be brought from any asian grocery shop or in the world food aisle in the supermarket.0 -

Cottage cheese dumplings????
Its lovely - little balls of sweet creamy cheese scented with cardamon - no weirder than tiramisu which is basically soggy bisuits with coffee and cheesePeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

At least it sounds better than the asian sweets which are mostly flour and sugar and dont taste of anything lol. OP does your OH know how to make it? I take it he is asian... can he ask a family member? What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

I do seem to remember making this in the distant past, and IIRC I made it from full cream milk powder (available in Indian shops) - why not ask the shopkeeper? I'm sure they would have a good recipe!
I remember making panir, and that involved asafoedita (spelling?) to curdle the milk, but I'm sure a sweet dish would be unlikely to use anything which smells quite so revolting!!!!!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
