They are also the biggest bunch of unhelpful idiots I've ever dealt with...:( They are no help, nor do they want to help if you are in any financial trouble...:(

are you allowed to pay by credit card? M%S do a 0% for 20 months card, maybe you should apply for one then pay very off with that, then pay the card off in installments so you're not building up loads of interest. I appreciate credit isnt always the solution to debt, but as this card is 0% for so long perhaps it would help you.

could your partner apply instead? congrats on the baby, I got pregnant right after I started an evening course and he was born 18 days before the exams! I still did them though and went to uni when he was 15 months, it is possible and I know yuo must feel a bit down with the situation but remember it's nothing that can't be sorted :)

Yeah backdated interest after a 0% period is a killer.

Your missing payment you said you had may affect you getting a credit card. But it may be worth applying for one - with your bank if you have managed your finances well with them, just ask if you can pay Very off using your CC. Also Credit cards on 0% don't do backdated interest (well I've never heard of any)

Definitely put your savings into the Very debt.

    Good luck!

    Hi,
I too had a nightmare with Very. I opened an account at the start of the year, they instantly gave me a £1500 credit limit. I bought a few items (under £200) on interest free option. I paid it off within 6 months and as part of my money 'clean up' decided to close the account as I wasn't going to use it and wanted the available credit taken off my credit report. Closing the account proved difficult, they ignored two emails, when I rang them they told me to email them. Grrrrr. I emailed them and sent a letter recorded delivery then they started sending me money off offers to persuade me to keep my account open. It took the threat of a solicitors letter to get them to close it.
Anyway, what i'm trying to say is once you have paid it off and want to close it make sure they do and it is settled on your credit report.
Best of luck paying it off, you can do it if you put your mind to it!

As with most catalogues and anything you choose to take on credit there are terms and conditions - i know we dont always read this but it is there for our information...with a very account which i have myself you only get interest free if you pay your balance in 3 equal payments. if you place an order in the middle then this recalculates so your take 3 payment will increase! if you choose not to pay that option then you like a credit card only pay the minimum payment so interest will be charged at the apr...as this amount is variable then if your credit file gets worse from the time you opened the account then your apr will increase we all know that we can get carried away with big credit limits and i myself have learned that lesson the hard way! however you can ask any company to cap and freeze your limit to a sensible amount, i also know very are very good with help when you are struggling with payments as i am currently on a repayment plan i owed over £5,000 - if you want any help then send me a message and i will try to help you!
