Need help writing a letter

I've had a productive day on these boards and read and recieved some really useful advice.

I've closed my bank account from which all my debts are paid from and got a new one

I made a statement of affairs and have gone through cccs online .. as a guide, i will ring them tomorrow as I feel better speaking to someone.

I am going into work tomorrow to discuss coming back to work on reduced hours (off due to illness) I have to work 2 weeks in hand so I won't actually have any money coming in til the middle of the monthish.

I have payments due...and outstanding really and I want to make a token payment of £1 i have no money at the moment and this is all i can really afford and i don't want to ignore it any longer. PLUS it will be a while until CCCS get in touch.

Can someone please help me draft a letter, my main concers are the payday loan companies as my other debts are upto date.

Thanks and sorry for the long post

    One of the letters here?

Adapt the "token payment" and/or "hold action" one to suit?

Thank you so much that's really useful.

I just have two questions.. I'm going to go through CCCS and a DMP...
    1) Can I incorporate into the letter that I am doing this and then explain I want to offer a token payment until it get's put in place?
    2) This is a bit silly but is an email acceptable, as long as I retain proof that I have sent it?
    3) If I do send a letter via post should I sign it with my signiture or type my name out on the computer? ...I've read posts which says don't sign anything because they could you it.

    Thanks :]

    1) Yep. Best to explain what is going on.
    2) I suppose so. I prefer recorded post and that is more conventional to prove.
    3) Unless you dispute that you signed for the credit originally, then there is no reason not to sign. It's only when you know they never had a signature in the first place that its a problem. Presumably you are (a) not disputing anything and (b) signed originally anyway.

On a side note, when you speak to CCCS you can ask them if they have an official template.

I think they have their own letter that they might be able to send you a copy of?

  • My main debts were signed electronically online, and it's these that I want to send the token payments for. So I know they do not have a copy of my written signiture.

But I will put the questions I asked to CCCS aswell, you've been a great help :]
