need advice for my son --he has a car on HP, has paid over half. The car is a Rover and the head gasket has gone and cooked the engine so its useless. This is the second engine to go the same way.
He has £5000 to go on the car. Anybody have any idea on what he can do ? The finance people will take the car back if more than half has been paid --but I dont know about a knackered car !
He is in despair --cant get another car while they are paying this one and needs one for workk.

They won't take back a knackered car. However...as the car is still technically belongs to the finance company still ask them for help or advice. When one of our customers finances something through us and its faulty we usually act as a mediator between the supplier and customer. The big problem in your sons case is that Rover are dead and i'm not sure who deals with warrantly claims/merchandise complaints for them :(

    How old is the car?

Who are you actually paying for the car though? Which finance house provided the money?

send a letter to the quality assurance department - if anyone can liaise or resolve it is them. however, you won't be able to terminate the agreement if the car is knackered - basically to hand it back it has to be roadworthy
