Will let you know how we get on next week ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
We had the specialist oven cleaner in yesterday, and I don't know what they did but apparently it's had the all clear now.
(As for why we need a specialist in to clean the oven at regular intervals, probably better not go there because when I spill something in the oven at home I MOP IT UP the same day, but other people seem to think it's better to leave it there at the end of the afternoon, expect someone else to clean it in the morning, but then also expect to be able to start using the oven before anyone else has had a chance to clean it, and then get annoyed that it hasn't been cleaned recently.)Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
A razor fish tank cleaner does the job brilliantly. I got one from the local aquarium shop for about £3 when we melted a chopping board onto the hob!

Glad you finally got it all sorted. It would seem that someone has upset the oven fairies and they have gone on strike. Have a word with the fairy union and promise more marshmallows.0 -
My flatmate did the same thing in second year, she nearly poisoned us all with toxic fumes lol. We just used good old fashioned elbow grease and wallpaper scrapers.“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A.
