Aktiv Kapital Defaults Procedure

Just a warning to anyone whose accounts may have been taken over by AK whilst on a DMP. Having recently checked my credit file & knowing that all my defaults occurred between March & December 2000, lo & behold, there was a nice big default from AK dated October 2002. Initially, I rang them & then followed up the conversation with written evidence of default dates etc. This DMP was originally with Robinson Way & Co. & it was taken over by AK in October 2002. It turns out that whenever AK take on a new account, they register a default on your file from that date. I received a phone call from them a couple of days ago (Quite polite & helpful) saying that they agreed with the evidence I had submitted & they had now notified the CRAs that the actual default date was May 2000. So all's well that ends well! But, be warned, if you're involved with them, check your credit file.
