Wedding dress alteration help

Ok so I now have 5 weeks to go until my wedding day
I brought a dress 6 months ago - advertised incorrectly as the wrong size but have fallen in love with it. So I have been trying to lose weight and working out to get it to fit.
I haven't tried the dress on for 8 weeks and in that time I have lost 12lbs, 5" off my waist and 1" everywhere else.
The dress is a corset back dress and I think that although I could get it on now (I could before but it was too tight) I don't the privacy panel at the back will fit.
Do you think it would weird if I didn't wear it with the privacy panel or would a dressmaker be able to make me one up?
Thoughts please x

Congratulations on your weightloss!!
Sorry to be dim, but is there any reason you can't try the dress on now to see how it fits? You can wear a lace up dress without the panel - in my personal opinion I think it looks better with one, but it's entirely up to you. Secondly, if you still have over a month to go you may lose a little more weight (don't go mad trying to lose loads though - you want to be healthy on your wedding day, not starving and exhausted!). I'd have thought a dressmaker could make a larger panel up for you without too much difficulty if you do need one - contact a few local ones for quotes. Be aware that a lot of them will be very busy at this time of year though, but hopefully one will be able to fit you in.
Good luck!
