Asking for a one of charge to be refunded?

Anyone have any advice? because of the irregular bank holidays over the festive period a cheque i paid in over a fortnight ago has just cleared, meaning that i incurred 3 £39 charges for payments that would normally have only totalled £50!

I am planning approaching my bank nicely to have these refunded. Any advice? I have already reclaimed all my previous charges on the account so they might be reluctant, but I have been charge free for a year, and that £120 could pay off something else!

I think I'd be asking them to explain why it took so long to clear the cheque - there were three working days between Christmas and New Year - as well as asking for the charges to be refunded.
    I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

the dealy in clearing the cheque may be a good argument to ask for a refund. Who do you bank with?

i incurred a charge for a bounced dd recently (entirely my fault) approchaed Nat west who actually offered to refund the charges before i even asked for them.

If only all banks were like that

I'm in a similar situation with the Co-op Bank. I claimed back a lot of charges with nationwide last year and they closed my account. Co-op have now charged me a one off fee which I am not v happy about, but I don't want to risk them closing my account too. So I think I'm going to have to put up with it.
