Hot Air Balloon Festival, Moira

Just picked up a leaflet for the hot air balloon event in Moira end of August. 30 hot air balloons taking to the sky with a special night glow version with a food festival and fun fair.

As our eldest is 16 it would cost £30.00 entrance fees, does anyone know if this includes the funfair, bucking bronco etc. or is that all extra. I presume the food festival will charge.

Do you get anything for the entrance fee or is it just to see the balloons.

Any info. much appreciated. Ta

We were going to take a stall at this but when we looked into the entrance fees etc, decided against it

As far as I know, the entrance fee is entrance only, the rides are extra, and food will definitely be extra - especially with the price they are charging for a food stall!!!

  • Thanks for the info. So it would be £30 to get in and then kids asking for £2 for this and £4 for that every two minutes plus food, think I'll give it a miss. Pity always fancied a go on the bucking bronco. :(

There will be a bucking bronco and plenty more at Autumnfest, the Cash for Kids Fun Day in Stormont in October, and it is free entry! The Vikings are coming too, plus the Kids Alive band, so although you will have to pay for food and rides, there is plenty of free entertainment and no admission charge at this one.

Search facebook for Autumnfest to find out more!

  • Sounds like a much better day out, thanks for the info. £30.00 will get a few burgers, rides and me breaking my neck on the bucking bronco.

  • We attended the balloon festival yesterday....over charged and over rated £10...most of the food stalls were burgers and chips or coffee/tea vans. As for the funfair everything was at least £2 a go. The great light and sound event was a complete disaster, the music was from the post war period..the kids hated it!!! The display consisted of 6 balloons shooting the flame into them and not even intime to the music...save your money and avoid the festival!!!!
  • Thanks for the update, glad we didn't bother.
