Probably not, the US and far east are both different regions to a UK/ Euro wii.

Games may or may not play. I say that as no-one is sure if the region encoding is switched on, the wii is capable of it buit it's down to developers to decide if they want to use it, the could make them all one region to make manufacture easier, or restrict it so they can charge different prices in different places.

Sending as presents does NOT mean no charges. If HMRC decide you've bought them as an item not a present, then anything over £18 will be charged both VAT and duty as applicable.

It's an old trick and don't think Customs are not wise to it...

try ringing everywhere! I've been told 8,000 are coming online thats over all shops so they will have to fight who gets the most! I know my boss was ringing customers all day to see if they still wanted one.
