After much web searching we took the plunge and ordered a Wii from Amazon.de on the 9th and it has arrived today, the 14th. The Wii + delivery from Germany was only £177.47 on my Nationwide credit card. No hassle whatsoever and a great weight off my shoulders. Just need to get my hands on a Euro plug convertor and the Wii Play game now. £3 for a plug convertor from Maplin http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=19246&C=Maplin&U=SearchTop&T=euro&doy=14m11 . Unfortunately Amazon.de didn't have the Wii Play in stock or I would have ordered it from there as well.
Can't have everything I suppose.
Good luck everyone.

This made me sad though.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nintendo-Wii-w-Wii-Sports-Game-BNIB-Receipt-Included_W0QQitemZ230191718549QQihZ013QQcategoryZ145520QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I'm a complete numpty..is it just that the games won't work & will have to be bought from the US..or...will they not work at all on our TV's? I've a sneaky feeling it may be the latter.0 -

Sigh, yes that site is mine but no, it wasn't me who said that. Do you want me to remove the link? It wasn't a plug at all, there is a very friendly discussion going on over there with lots of people trying to help others find a Wii for xmas, much like here. Between us we have tried several European sites for buying a Wii in recent days and I thought I'd update people here with the same information. It seems that comtech is taking orders, but the person on the other site (which I of course won't link to) said he had an update that they were getting more stock on November 16.
Fair enough. It's not up to me to say remove posts / links, i'm not a mod.
I'm just saying linking to affiliate sites isn't allowed on these forums, the same as linking to your personal websites, and your links were both.
They might be good for info purposes but to someone who doesn't know about affiliate links could happily click and buy then kick themselves when they find out they could have earned the affiliate comission themselves through quidco, and rpoints etc... and they can't because you have already claimed that comission.
I have numerous affiliate websites all of which i'm not allowed to mention in here. So it's just basically the rules are for us all and we all have to stick to them, if no-one pointed out affiliate links or spam posts the amount of members on here could give the affiliate owners a hell of a lot of money and as it's an ad free and free to use site it goes against the ethics of the website.
We're all here to help each other but do it for free and not because it gives you a comission.
Back on topic though as it's a good thread, lets keep it that way........... Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -
Still no joy here. I tried loads of Argos stores today...even the Oxford one so some of you guys had great timing. I was clearly having a wee at that time...getting my wiis & wees confused.....hey maybe I could just wrap DD a sample & say I didn't know which wii/wee she meant......OK she's not stupid!
I need to eat so fingers crossed for another round later.
Well done those whose shoulders are lighter & their wallets to boot!0 -
For those of you that have ordered from comtech and paid with paypal what does your order status now say? Mine says "Zahlung offen" (payment open) - anyone elses any different?
I guess they are marrying up the paypal payments with the orders manually?0 -
