KathrynPenguin - well done. Ignore all the tosspots on this site who think that everyone should only take one of any offer and leave the rest for others who are not as fast, or can't be bothered to search out bargains for themselves.
This forum is called "Grab it while you can" - and you are doing nothing wrong, other than help those people who for the sake of £50-£70 extra can't be bothered to buy from Amazon.de.
It never ceases to amaze me how people are willing to pay way over the odds on Ebay for something they could get for themselves if they only put in a tiny bit of effort. More fool them and good luck to you.You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -

KathrynPenguin.
Me too.
I found my wii several weeks ago via google & desk top updates, before I even found this forum.
Since then I have posted several times when I have spotted them & will continue to do so.
Last week my husband was in France & I sent him on a mission to find a wii play. (He did :T ) After a lot of umming & ahhing over the phone, we also decided to break the bank & buy one wii console. (He's not allowed a credit card)
I've put it on ebay & am now feeling sick that we may not even break even. (Meanwhile a menu of beans o toast in this house)
(I'm new to selling & have only just realized Paypal take a cut of postage costs too. As I only ever charge actual costs I've lost out on the last few things I sold.)
If people cannot be bothered to do the searches, make the phone calls & wander around the streets to get what they want & are willing to pay over the odds, then that is their perogative. They could even get it at below cost price. It will be the bidders who determine the price, not me. At least someone buying from me will get a brand new wii & not be prey to scammers with the links, empty boxes, pyramid sales etc etc. I've even put a plug convertor on it.
As for lining my pocket, money is tight & if it means I will be able to get a few extras for my kids, then I feel I am only doing what Mums do.
If it works out, I may just brave it & try another..we'll see.
In the meantime, anyone serious about finding a cost price wii will easily find one via google & sites such as this, & I am just as willing as everyone else to help.0 -
Then surely this website should be renamed money making expert and not money saving expert?
But you have to make money before you can save it. Many people struggle to make ends meet and therefore turn to this site to find a way to make more money. Its better than just spending money you havn't got.The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -

I always find it strange how some people are willing to have a go at an individual when they take advantage of a situation to make a profit, but never think that companies are doing anything wrong by making a profit.
Personally I wouldn't dream of paying £250 plus for a Nintendo Wii, but there are plenty of people who are, it isn't as if it is something that someones life depends on, I wouldn't condone someone profiteering on the basics that people need to get by, but this is a luxury item and I commend anyone who has the savvy to take advantage of the situation.
Those that think that it is wrong to buy and sell something on for a profit should download Martins teenagers guide to money, to paraphrase Martin, companies are not your friend, the do you no favours their objective is to make a profit, loyalty does not pay.
I think the real problem here is that some people have made unreasonable promises to their children that they cannot keep, unless they are willing to spend exorbitant amounts of money, that is their failing in life not the failing of the person who takes their money.
My niece was told that it was very unlikely she would get a Wii for Christmas, she accepted that, without any tantrums, because she was taught to be tolerant.0
