I think this is a ploy by Nintendo to thrash Playstaion and X Box with the sale of the units!!

There's a number of theories about this. One is that Nintendo is stockpiling the consoles ready for Christmas ... after all, many people might be tempted to buy an Xbox 360 or (given the eBay prices for wiis) a PS3 instead if they can't get a Wii. A lack of supply now is less bad press than a 2nd year with no stock at Christmas.

Of course, there is also a rumour that IBM are having supply problems on the Wii processor and stock is going to be scarce at Christmas.

Amazon seem to be having small but regular supplies, and other shops also seem to have similar supplies. Don't worry about the crazy prices on eBay ... if you're starting to look now, you've probably got a good chance of finding one before Christmas.

I've had some success with http://www.wii-consoles.co.uk/wii_console_realtime.asp ... it seems to give lots of false positives, but you may strike it lucky. There are similar sites if you google for 'wii stock checker'.

I quite agree, when traipsing round this morning, I said similar and majority of the staff agreed with me. Nintendo probably have a pile that they're sitting on laughing, BUT..... as parents you're stuck, you can't say Santa can't find one..... and of course at the moment, we're the only house on our estate not to have one ............

A bit off topic but I've been ringing round lots of Morrisons and a few Tescos and Asdas too and the phone service at all of the Morrisons is excellent - no pressing 1's or 2's or being put or hold with rubbish tunes for ages!!!

Brill service even if I still haven't got my Wii!!!!!

Hi...Went into Game- Chelmsford yesterday and was put on a waiting list, got a call today to say they have had a delivery. Don't know if they have any left, might be worth a call. HTH.
