My Top Tip for getting a Wii reservation at Argos:

Try and do 'reserve for store pick up' shortly after closing time of the store that you're interested in. (I got mine at a first attempt - 30mins after closing.) That's because any previously held reservations for that day will expire at some point soon after that store closes.

Why would any reservations be expiring - when surely everyone that has ordered a Wii will have gone straight down there to pick theirs up? Well lots don't actually use their reservations because lots of cheeky folks have been reserving for motives -other- than actually wanting a Wii:

1. Those that want to compete with Argos and so want to 'tie up' the Argos stock - including those selling a Wii on eBay or Amazon at inflated prices.

2. Those that want to snaffle the reservations so that they can sell some of the actual reservations on eBay. Note that this will sometimes mean them reserving 10 consoles, just to make them 'out of stock' and to then put one up for sale on eBay!

In the event that Argos go back to stopping people doing 'Reserve for pick up' - it will probably mean that your local Argos 'suddenly' has some stock! (Maybe try the 'saynoto0870' website for a local store number to ring and check for stock first.)

karms12 - you don't need to pay in advance when you 'reserve for store pick up' - just pay in cash when you collect at the store.

Oh, and I think the Wii is great - and more importantly, it has great potential!

Hi all - I think i am allowed to do this on here, but I have decided to sell my wii and thought i'd like to offer it on here for cost plus postage (or collect from me near tetbury if you like) to you guys who have not managed to get one yet before ebaying it. PM me if interested. Its used, about 2 months old, but complete with box and manuals etc great condition. Mods I hope this is OK, if not please remove my post.
