Bankruptcy isn't that bad, I was fortunate enough to move house just after I went bankrupt in september 2009. The official receiver never put the BR on my credit file and I have checked all 3 credit agencies ,equifax, exerian and call credit. I was discharged from BR early on June2010. When I registered on the reference agencies, I gave my current address and missed the BR address and put my much older home as my previous address, it worked a treat as my score was really high. They did come up with linked address which had a few defaults and 1 CCJ. I then contacted the creditors and told them that they should have removed the debt from my name as I was a discharged bankrupt even though my file never showed it. They all either updated the record to show debt settled or removed all together. I have been discharged for 1 year now, I have a cap one card with £22000 limit plus Barclays with £16,000.00 limit. I actually use them very little though and stay within my means. My BR was due to the company I owned went bust due to recession but I had done a director guarantee on most things. By the way, any one who is bankrupt with a CCJ , they can force the court to put a zero balance on your file which does actually shoot your score up. You have to be pushy with them as it took me 2 months of calling them every week.0
