Florida plus multiple-stop trip - all help welcome

I am planning on going to the States and want to do multiple stops as I have family in New York and in Boston. The plan is to go from Glasgow to New York (one week) then onto Florida (two weeks) and then onto Boston (one week) before finally coming back home. My question is am I better off booking separate flights and accommodation in Florida as in New York and Boston I'm staying with family? Does anyone have any experience of multiple-stop flights in the States and what is the cheapest way to do this? How do I incorporate a Florida holiday into all this.

All help appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Try logging onto Continental.com and making a reservation on the "multiple destination" options. It will let you select Glasgow to Newark then Newark to Orlando, Orlando to Boston and then Boston to Newark and on to Glasgow.
I think it might be pricey though - the cheapest option may be to do the Glasgow-Orlando bit with Continental and ask for a stop off in Newark on the way out - they don't (or didn't used to) charge a stop off fee, and then a separate Orlando/Boston flight.

Could you go Boston to New York by Amtrak? - that may also help.

I've done many multiple stops, most with Continental and they have been the best by far.

Another thing to consider - if you would be prepared to fly out of Glasgow and back to Edinburgh or vice versa that also sometimes cuts the price a little - although I've never understood why. We are always dropped off/picked up at the airport so makes no difference to me and saves a few £££'s.

Also worth looking at Expedia - for some reason I have managed to get Continental flights cheaper there than direct - another mystery!

I would book accomodation and car hire separately to the flights but that's just a personal view and depends how comfortable you are doing it on your own.

TripAdvisor.com is a great website for getting advice and opinion too.

    Hope this helps a bit!

I've done something similar. I checked with www.kayak.co.uk using the multi-city. I am also just back from Orlando where we travelled from Glasgow, hired a car and drove the 400 odd miles to my wife's relations in the pan handle.
