Frustration

I am now in a position to pay off my mortgage (as in - if I cash in everything it equals what I owe).

I would so much like to do this, as the idea of being mortgage free and really owning my house 'free and clear' before 50 seems wonderful.

However due to a good mortgage deal, I am getting a better rate on my savings than I am paying on my mortgage, so it wouldn't make any sense.

Don't think I deserve any sympathy, as many people are struggling to meet mortgage payments, but can anyone appreciate the frustatration?

:(

This forum's one of the few places where you can get sympathy for that particular frustration! You have to try to celebrate virtual mortgage freedom, but it's not quite the same. ;) At least you know that whenever rates change and you no longer have a mortgage rate that's lower than your savings rate, you'll be able to act immediately and get rid of the thing.

Well done on your achievement, anyway, and thank you for dropping in here to be another example to encourage us that it's possible. :)
