Living Room Furniture Advice Needed

Hi
I would like to buy some good quality living room furniture - bookcases, tv unit etc.
I would like to see the items prior to buying and am not interested in flat pack stuff, it's got to be good quality. Probably looking for something quite traditional and possibly oak but don't ant to pay high street prices.
I was hoping for recommendations in the Midlands area, any ideas??
Thanks in advance

have you looked for furniture warehouse places in local phone book
we have local firm that has stores in Corby and Irthlingborough called A6 that sells ready assembled / solid oak and pine pieces
you can do searches here too

not local but online I have used this company before with smooth process
http://www.treatyourhome.com/ as I chose items I wanted and then found they were cheaper bought from themBaby Milk Action is a non-profit organisation which aims to save lives and to end the avoidable suffering caused by inappropriate infant feeding.0 -
I don't know if this company is in the Midlands (my geography is awful), but we bought our sofa from here, and it is lovely, and the furniture looks equally lovely too, very chunky and study and real wood.
Customer service was excellent too, plus they supply furniture for many of the shows on tv, eg: 60 minute makeover, and they have an excellent delivery service of their own (read the testimonials on the website).

We just bought a huge piece if furniture from a local cabinet maker, they advertise as a pine warehouse but they also do oak, not in the midlands in the North West but there maybe someting similar local to you?
We took a drawing of what we wanted, based on a similar unit in M & S but slightly different and it cost about half of the M& S price for a unit in solid wood, the M & S one was part wood and part hardboard.0 -

I used to work with someone who was extremely particular about the quality of his furniture and he practically lived in Coles Of Bilston - I think its now known as
Cole's Home Furnishers. You can find them at Great Bridge Rd, Bilston, West Midlands WV14 8LB. Tel: 01902 401122
I'm not sure which area of Midlands you are in but it is easily accessible from the (dreaded) M6 at Junction 10.0 -

I am Danish and I love that particular style and agree that Flatpack is the pits (no offence to IKEA). I was pleased when I saw ILVA has come to the UK they are at
ILVA Thurrock
Units A2/A2a
Lakeside Retail Park
West Thurrock
Essex RM20 1LW
ILVA Gateshead
Metro Retail Park
Gibside Way
Gateshead NE11 9BT
Their website is ILVA.co.uk
Also just wanted to add we got a lot of our new stuff from Cargo, solid Oak and a nice real leather sofabad.
Hope this helps and you get something nice.Moved to Denmark for FIRE by Aug 2025 “May your decisions reflect your hopes not your fears”

Same here! :T
It was funny to see Remoulade being sold there though.
Oh, and they also serve Frikadeller, Medister and Biksemad! :rotfl:0
