Defaults Removed

Sorry if in the wrong area but i was hoping someone could help.
I am currently trying to have a default removed due to not been sent a original notice. I have sent a subject access request and have been sent back a letter stating they cannot provide me the original agreement due the account been settled and closed in February this year. I was wondering if there is some time scale that a finance company is required to keep records. By the way it's with Welcome finance any help would be much appreciated

I dont think not been sent a notice is reason enough to get a default off your credit file so I wouldnt hold your breath.

Do you agree that you owe the debt and when was it from

The debt is settled (Feb this year) and show has satisfied but it a due to a car i vt d early and paid off the remaining over a agreed time but they have been putting it down has defaulting each month now saying they did not agree to allow time to pay off the balance unfortunly i did not anything in writing only word of mouth
