Is this item good for kilt travel on flights

Hi i am taking a kilt outfit overseas with me in which i am getting married and ideally i would like to take the outfit on as hand luggage,I almost purchased a kilt carrier roll at the weekend in which you roll the kilt inside,but this looks to big to take on as hand luggage.
So would probably have to put that inside my case the bonus about it would be it would protect the pleats when in the case.
I have been looking at this and the person states on there site and also on ebay that it can be used as hand luggage this is the item:

Has anyone used this to go overseas with and if so what airline,i just look at it and think with a jacket,kilt shoes,sporran etc etc this would be too large the seller says there is clips at the bottom to fold it in half,i still think its too big i think.

I ideally would be great if i could take my outfit as hand luggage,but i have a feeling that there be nothing out there that will be ok to use as hand luggage and have to go in my case,it does worry me my outfit having to go in case and in hold what a nightmare it would be if it got lost,no clothes and not outfit for my own wedding.

Be great to hear from others who have got married overseas and taken a kilt or have got taken one with them as a guest

cant you just find argos suitcases and wrap the kilts in acid free paper and bubble wrap xxxx

Personally I would telephone your airline and get the dimensions of what you are allowed to take onboard as hand luggage...this does vary from airline to airline so I wouldnt take the sellers word for it that the bag they want to sell you is the right size....once you have the dimensions you can then make a choice to purchase the carrier or not...

So phone them or speak to your travel agent to clarify the allowance...not only in terms of size but also weight as there probably is a restriction of 5kgs per item....take the persons name you speak to and you will then have all the information required to make a decision on whether to purchase the bag or not....job done!
