Wedding Venues

I'm looking for a wedding venue and thought I'd ask around for help.

Planning on having the wedding early next year (Apparently this is very soon) and am looking to find a venue for the reception.

The number of guests seems to limit us alot as we are having 150 people for the meal.

Has anyone any suggestions for places that are reasonably priced ?

*Sorry I should say I'm looking for places within ~90minutes drive of Bangor any direction

For most ppl it is soon, but we got engaged and married 7 months later so def can be done!If you are looking for a dress from a bridal shop you will need to look asap as they can take ages as made to measure.

We got married in the Clarion in Carrick. Really good midweek deal, room def big enough for 150 for dinner and more for eve.

We had ceremony in 1 room and reception in another, then there is a separate bar downstairs (not the lobby one) that we used for tea/coffee and when room was being turned around. Very good food, also not pushy and didn't try to sell us more than we wanted/needed.

I can recommend the Hilton at Templepatrick or Belfast. Belfast is closer to Bangor but TP is nicer surroundings, free parking, good rates and do a great wedding. Im sure they will have free dates for an early in the year wedding....

I did mywedding in 10 weeks so you have more than enough time ;-)

As a pp said, hotels will prob be the easiest thing or look for barns, they tend to be big venues! Good luck! xx

Try your local race course, they will probably have a restaurant with a large capacity and probably in house caterers.

I highly recommend the Four Seasons in Carlingford, that would be right at the 90 minute mark from Bangor.

They do excellent mid-week packages, at the time I got married we took the mid-week and got a reduced price on our meal, we were able to bring our own wine, we got 3 rooms in the hotel included. Their offers may have since changed but I'm sure you will still get a good deal, 4seasonshotelcarlingford.ie/weddings/specials/

They only have one wedding per day so the place is all yours, the room has the bar and toilets etc. all in the one places plus a balcony looking out at the Cooley mountains so your smokers don't have to leave the party and congregate at the door all night, they can just nip out to the balcony and still be part of the party.

The service we received was second to none and the food was absolutely amazing. We rang them to find out when a wedding was on and they let us come in before it started to see the room all set up for a wedding similar in size to ours. We also had around 150 guests. Pricing is based one the main course you choose too so we found it really straight forward to figure out what we would pay.

I'm a wedding photographer and rarely do any work in the Bangor area but was really impressed by Brownlow House in Lurgan which may be within your travelling distance. It's rarely that a venue is dedicated solely to the couple in the way that it is.They've beautiful open fires and amazing photographic opportunities.I'm also told it's competitively priced.
