Please help me be a beautiful bride!

Well it's as the title says really. I'm desperate for advice, opinions, help. I'm getting married December 9th this year and cannot wait to be married to my h2b but I am actually dreading the day. I know that sounds awful but the thought of having a whole day of lots of people staring at me and the pressure of having to look good just makes me feel sick!
Firstly, I'm not happy with my weight. I currently weigh 11st 11lb and am a size 16. I would like to be at least a comfortable size 14 for the wedding. So, I'm not really asking for the world but I have tried diet after diet and I start off really well for the first week or two then I'll get side lined and go totally of the rails and am back to square one. Please can someone help and recommend a good healthy eating plan that is easy to stick to (I know that this is mainly down to me and my will power but just need help starting off).
Also, exercise. The only exercise I get is taking my 7 month little boy out in his pram for a walk to the shops or park etc. I've tried fitness videos in the evening, but by the time I put Callum to bed I'm shattered and there's always loads of housework to catch up on. So, does anyone have any ideas what I could do in the way of exercise that can be done with my son or when he's a sleep.
Finally, makeup/ skincare. I'm going to be doing my own makeup on the big day (we're on a very tight budget), so can anyone recommend foundation etc that is good quality and not too expensive. I have no skincare routine at the moment and my skin is paying the price for it. What should I be putting on my skin to get it looking less tired and dull? I'm willing to buy products but all spare money is going on the wedding so really has to be a good price.
Hope I haven't rambled on too much and really hope someone can help me be a beautiful bride! xxx

Theres a fantastic wedding diet thread here...I'm sure you will be more than welcome to join them and share tips and motivation....
In my experience of being a mum you probably get lots of excersise running after your little one and walking with the pram is a great way to get fit...its probably the only form of excrsise I took after having my son so definatley keep that up if its something you enjoy...
if you remember the basics of healthy eating and only occaisional snacks then I'm sure you will be well on the way to shedding the few extra pounds you think you need to....
But most of all on your wedding day be yourself...and stay true to who you are...you will be a radiant bride...frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
i will be using bare escentuals make up which is easy to put on and its light. it can be pricey but the mineral veil gives you a bit of an airburshed look.
you will look beautiful on your day

do u have a WII? reason i ask is they have a zumba game out well not really a game more a fitness thing.ad zumba is fab for burning calories
as for a diet i dont really know as i dont diet as such i just eat healthy,i'll have a croissant for breakfast, then for lunch i have 2 ryvita cracker breads 17cals each one with some spread on like philadelphia with a pack of crisps low in calories,i then have nothing after that till tea, which will consist of fish, chicken, jacket potatoe, pasta dishes, then fruit for afters or greek yoghurt.snacking is a big no no as it dont help.then of a weekend i allow myself a few drinks and some choc/cake or something nice as you should give yourself a break else you stop losing weight.
as for make up,pop into boots and tell them your getting married and they will do u a little make over, tell them your on a budget so dont want to spend a fortune on make up but want some ideas of what will look nice and they should help you0 -
Also dont try to hard to lose the weight u may find u will gain by doing that just relax and enjoy good healthy food0

I have started slimming world which I find really easy (but you can feel a little restricted)
There are pages and pages of food which you can eat as much as you like from
I have really missed bread, chocolate etc... Although you still can eat these in small amounts. However when I start I don't stop so I am avoiding them all together.
I was 12st 2lb when I started (4 weeks ago) now at 11st 4lbs and really happy. Already feeling the difference clothes wise - was a struggling size 14 and now I can guarantee that I can fit any size 14 and lots of just too big! Yay!
Would defo recommend it!0 -
Hi Beakatron,
I'm also dieting to lose weight for my wedding, and have found the dieting thread on here to be fantastic for support and a bit of a giggle. Everyone's following their own dieting strategy, but I'm trying to keep it simple, using MyFitnessPal on my computer and my phone, to track calories and exercise. I've lost 12 pounds in just over five weeks.
I don't ban anything, I just eat sensibly, and have been exercising most days (even if for just 20 minutes). I walk whenever I can and work out at home in the evenings: Wii Zumba and I've just started on the 30-Day Shred DVD (only £6 from Amazon!). Because the work-outs are just 20 mins, it doesn't seem too much when I'm feeling tired. So maybe that's something you could try?
Make-up, I'm also doing my own on the day, and can only recommend my fave brand really, which is Lily Lolo. They do a brilliant finishing powder called Flawless Silk that really makes my skin look vibrant. Their prices are very reasonable as well.
Hope that helps!

if u live outside a MAC store they send you a sample, i think u have to be outside of 10 miles - you just write to them tell them you want it for wedding and say as its pricey please could you have a sample, i got mine

Oh yes I second the vote for Lily Lolo. I've been using their makeup for years and their foundations give such a wonderful flawless look and they don't clog your skin. They are only available online; the foundation is £12 and you will need a little kabuki brush to apply it, but I get loads of comments when I wear it.

Hi Beakatron!
Definitely join us on the diet thread - a few of us there are doing the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred - it's very intensive but suitable for beginners. It also only takes 20 minutes a day so you can pop the dvd in when your son's having a nap.
I'm following something call the No S diet - simply put it means no sweets, no seconds and no snacks, except on days beginning with S - Saturday, Sunday and special days (your birthday, Christmas, etc) If you google it you'll get loads of info. I really like it because it'sreally just about eating the way we usedto eat, with snacks and sweets as a treat rather than an everyday thing. There's no restrictive rules, andyou decide what to put on your plate at mealtimes, as long as you're conscious of what you're eating.
I'm doing my own make up aswell, haven'tdecided which foundation to use yet but there are lots of tutorials andadvice on youtube.
Best of luck!

if you just keep to the basics of healthy eating - you will lose weight in no time - easier said than done i know but if you do want something then have it!! dont deprive yourself because this leads to bigger binges but make it up through out the day with your other meals.
i would also recommend Jillian Michaels 30 day shred - excellent 20 min work out the days after my first attempt you could really feel it working. i am roughly on day 13 and although i havent lost weight ( which is my own fault, weekends are my downfall and the fact my other half can eat like a horse all day and some days i think i can too lol) but the difference in my overall fitness its great. its done in 3 difference levels and you can work your way up. i never thought i would reach level 2 but a few days ago i felt ready to move on. i notice a difference in my stomach and arms, even though i am not losing pounds i am def toning up then hopefully the pounds will follow
