Help new hoover needed

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a hoover that is lightweight (I have back problems) efficient and not too expensive. I cannot afford the likes of dyson and miele. I have laminate and hard floors downstairs and carpet on the stairs and upstairs. Thanks in advance.:)

The Samsung SC8442 has been highly rated by the Reevo website. It has a 2000w motor. Available for £64. I'm going to get one for upstairs.

I just brought a bissell cleanview compact from argos for £34.99 1/2 price at the moment. It's out of stock for home delivery but I managed to check and reserve one at my local (Worcester). It's small enough that it fits on the stairs when you're hoovering them, but the suction is really good. I've also got laminate and carpets and worked works well on both. A little on the noisy side, but otherwise I would reccomend.

    Hope this helps!

I would highly recommend a henry, really good suction, easy to use, and a good price, quite often on offer if you shop around. I wouldnt buy any other brand again after having one of these, I only ever used to like upright vacuum cleaners but the henry has totally changed my mind!Good luck with whichever one you choose anyway :)

i agree, id go for the HENRY

my uncle repairs cleaners, he told me that the henry was the best wee vacuum cleaner out there, he hardly ever had to repair them.
  • Thanks for the suggestions they are really helpful. I m thinking of using Amazon, does anyone one know who they use as their courier, as I have had a bad experience through yodel, as have others as i have read. I've tried looking on the site to no avail thanks in advance.

A henry every time, brilliant workhorse, you notice all the builders use them. They just go on and on and on.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • I had a Dyson dc14 but too heavy so got a Miele cat and Dog. Superb suction but was £179. I have just bought my mum in law a Charles (a blue Henry) from Tesco online, was £103, but had a £10 off for purchases over £100' and I had a few club card vouchers so I paid £75. Blooming brilliant. Massive capacity and can suck up water as well as normal hoovering. The cable is really long and I can't fault it. It even sucks up building rubble and leaves :)

Another one for the Numatic henry models, they are brilliant at what they do and seem to last forever.
