Hi, I really hope someone on here can help me, it's my mil's birthday on Saturday and I'd like to make her a cake. The problem is she has intolerances to dairy, egg, banana, wheat and gluten
is it impossible to do or can someone help?

Go to a chemist and buy some Glutafin "White Mix" which is a gluten-free substitute for wheat flour. Use margerine instead of butter. There are a fair number of recipies for cake which don't require eggs.0

What about some sort of rice krispie cake? Can she eat chocolate, or will carob be OK for her? Can she eat oats, there is a delicious ice cream made from oats available from several places which is vegan (Holland and Barrett being the best known) you could make her an ice cream cake? Or look up vegan cake or dessert recipes, there are several vegan "cheese" cake recipes which might be suitable for her. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Found this on https://www.veganfamily.co.uk
Angelic Pie - vegan strawberry cheesecake
Ingredients.
topping:
1 block of silken tofu (you can use firm but will need to blend for longer)
1 punnet of strawberries (reserve two or three for garnish)
3 tablespoons of sugar
quarter cup of sunflower oil
a little soya milk for blending
a few drops of vanilla essence or a scoop of vegan vanilla ice cream
base:
1 packet of cookies of your choice (we used Co-op Country Crunch)
3 tablespoons of vegan margarine
Whizz all the topping ingredients up in a blender until smooth (this makes the angel delight type thing). For the base - combine the cookies and marg. in a food processor (or you can crush the cookies and mix with melted marg) - press into a fairly large ovenproof dish (or two small ones whatever seems best for your quantities). Pour over the topping and bake at about 200C/400F for about half an hour until the topping is firming. remove from oven and cool. Decorate with sliced fresh strawberies and eat like an angel
You can buy silken tofu in most supermarkets, it comes in a small carton, similar to passata in shape and size. You could buy one of the gluten free biscuits which most of the supermarkets stock, for the base. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -

Is it possible to buy this? I have a wheat intolerance but not coeliac, so I can't get prescriptions for this.
If it's possible, how much do they charge?KEEP CALM AND keep taking the tablets :cool2:0 -
There is a vegan ice cream made by a company called Swedish Glace and it is lovely. You will have to check the ingredients for gluten etc. Health food shops usually sell them (I have bought it before Holland and Barrett). You could make an old fashioned knickerbocker glory.
Sorry just noticed you want to make a cake! Still ice cream may come in handy for another time.0 -

Unfortunately I dont have the book with me at the moment but it has loads of offerings that might come in handy later. The only thing I would say is after researching Algarve nectar I have found it to be incredible unhealthy-and now use honey where the nectar is called for.0 -
