Full & final after token payments with DCA?

Hi I have a debt with Friedrickson DCA for Ann Summers (I was a party organiser,my then boss sent back kit while I was in hospital and never kept proof or return so I was charged for it)
They added charges until it was £524. I won some money so offered them £300 to clear it, only to be told they wouldnt accept anything less then £400. So I cleared a different debt instead. Around this time I got advice from CCCS and was given a budget which included paying Friedrickson a token payment of £1 a month (along with other creditors). I have paid this on time for the last 6 months. Now I have £200 available to pay off a debt. I have a credit card of £280 that I could clear, but I much prefer to pay off Friedrickson as Id like to go back to Ann Summers at some point in the future and cant till its cleared.
Are they likely to accept it or just carry on with £1 a month. Also should I wait till they put it in writing that they accept that amount as full and final settlement of the debt? If I was a DCA I would rather take the £200 instead of having payments of £1!But then I think we all know that DCA's dont act like us normal people!

I'd imagine you have a reasonable chance of getting that level of F&F accepted, that should be a fairly good percentage for fredrickson.
You need to put your offer in writing and definitely make sure you wait until you have written confirmation from them that the payment will be in full & final settlement of the debt and that your credit file will be updated (assuming the debt does show on your credit file).
You might even want to state in your letter than if they do not accept your offer by x date that the money will be offered to another creditor (that might encourage them to accept).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
