Just wanted to give people a heads up. Just received my club card vouchers and Leaflet inside said

From 26th August

2 for 1 cinema tickets to see Disney pixars Cars 2 in 3D

Cut out voucher from special packs of luxury soft toilet roll

And Tesco not from concentrate fruit juices.

No says to check promo packs more than likely will include cineworld as in same mailing I got a 40% off sweets and popcorn voucher for cineworld first time I have ever had that

I didn't even get vouchers for extra points for my shopping this time, I always get them.

I did see the Cars promo on the leaflet, but I have already seen the film.:)

Will it still be out in 3d by then? They're usually only in 3d for a few weeks and it came out on 22nd July?

I bought the promotional pack, but on checking the showings for Cars 2 in 3D, found its only on in Ilford and Sheffield. No good to me.

Should they be allowed to promote something where there's hardly any chance of making use of the offer.

I bought some loo rolls for this voucher about a eek ago with intentions of using it in the holidays. I never realised there was a start date on it of 26th August. They are not even showing Cars 3D at our Cineworld anymore, 2D only, and this was last week so 2D might not even be showing by the time the voucher starts.

It's a good point, they are promoting the movie that is not available anymore.

Edited: I have emailed Tesco about this, will see what they say.

Yes, kind of. They did call me on Tuesday regarding my email and told me that they (Tesco) had emailed Cineworld but had not had a reply. She said that it was a 3rd party offer, so Cineworld ran the promotion - I guess they must pay Tesco to get the advertising on the packaging - so the T&C were out of their control as such, they could not tell us we could go and see it in 2D as the tickets would be refused when trying to exchange, without Cineworlds permission. Cineworld had so far not got back to them.

She offered me an £8 giftcard as way of apology because that would mean I could buy a ticket (obv it can be spent in Tesco but you see where she was going - she herself did say that it made no sense to have the offer if it could not be used) and I said I had bought 2 but before they did this, could they try and contact Cineworld again and ask if they can be used for 2D films. While it would be easy for me to take the card, I did think of others that had bought products just for this offer.

So I am still waiting for them to get back to me again, they are waiting to hear from Cineworld. I forgot to take her name I am afraid.

If you are also miffsed about it then it is worth sending an email to Tesco on the contact us page, the more people that complain the better IMO so they can keep on top of it. Just say that you bought these products for the free ticket and are now unable to use them so feel you have been misled into buying these products and could they please advise further on whether you can use the tickets for 2D as 3D is no longer showing.

Just to update. I've had a call back an the vouchers can be used to see Cars 2D too. We are going Saturday so I will update again and confirm success.
