made ba**s up

In Nov, applied for both Nationwide and IF cards to try and lower interest and therefore debt. Both declined.

More recently applied for &More card that too declined.

I know there is nothing on file, so assume this is a lending risk decision - ie i have enough already. Should I try to reapply after clearing some debt in the next few months.

However, there is a back up plan. I have been offered a card by Vanquis - at the stunning rate of 39.9% - a great idea to me I think :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

Have you checked all the credit files? Just because one is good, one of the others (although usually just equifax and experian) may have something on it. Also check you are on the electoral roll.

Know im the VR, and I know the files are OK. Im pretty sure its due to current commoitments- bar the last which is probably due to searches

    Hi
It can also sometimes be down to who the card provider is.

I have an A & L card with approx. £7500 limit. This is currently empty, as the 0% ran out a few moths ago.
I have just tried for a Virgin card but they declined with the following comment:
Your application has received our personal attention and we have evaluated all information available. This has included information relating to any existing accounts issued by MBNA. Following this review we are unable to issue a card to you at this time.

Nothing on my records as far as i am aware, and all payments up to date. Not applied for anything for over a year now. Hoping it's just the large limit available to me through MBNA.

I would check who the card issuer is before applying for the next one.
    What's he building in there???
Debt at highest £30,450 (Dec 05)
    Debt at lowest £9, 113 (Jul 07)
How much did we over spend whilst on maternity leave

Well in 6 months your searches will be gone and it is plausable that you may have cleared the barclaycard. It looks like you will have to give it the long game then.

The reason for rejection will be due to you having the A&L card - both virgin and A&L are issued by MBNA - sorry if you knew, but most people dont. The most probable reason for rejection is you already have quite a high limit at your disposal.

I am pretty well up on card issuers providers ( I have to be - i work for the afore mentioned company  ) However, I didnt realsise until applying Nationwide were linked to RBS (according to their website application)
