Wipes for removing eye make up

Hi, I mainly use wipes for taking off my make up because they are convenient, they take my face make up off but not all my eyeliner and I end up with panda eyes in a morning. Does anyone else find this, do you have to use a separate eye make up remover or remover pads.

Before I use a wipe, I cleanse with L'Oreal Age Perfect cleansing milk. I take that off with a tissue and then use Simple wipes. Works for me. I do not find that a wipe is sufficient on its own.

I've never found wipes to be very good, but I buy them to take on holiday because they are easier to carry around.

I've been using plain baby oil (asda own brand but I guess any would do) to remove eye make up for some months now. I used to use the cleanser that I was using, nothing special for the eye makeup. I've found that my cleanser and toner has lasted an absolute age since I have been doing that.

I really would recommend it, very MSE!

I use sensitive baby wipes for that, but i don't wear make up regularly. And when you travel they do everything!

I find Tesco Basic baby wipes do the job. Nice and damp, some of the others I find too dry.
    Cheap too!
    Normal people worry me.
  • I ditched my baby lotion on a cotton pad routine and bought Halo eye makeup remover pads from Superdrug on Saturday to try out. I'm not sure if £1.49 for 30 is cheap lol, but it was a 4 for 3 on the travelsize products so I didn't mind as I was stocking up on other little treats while the offer is on.

I'm definitely going back for a few packets more, seeing as I flipped them over to use the other side on the rest of my face and they did the trick with one pad without being to oily or drying my skin out afterwards.

I'm another one who only uses them on holiday, because as you point out they are not tremendously effective most of the time. They are also not massively cost effective!

I use ponds cold cream and a hot flannel most of the time, sometimes I use Body Shop vitamin e cleanser + toner and, rarely, I use some wipes - mostly in the mornings when I don't need a thorough cleanse as I've done it properly the night before. Cold cream is the best though :)

  • I think using wipes of any kind for make up removal is unlikely to be the best option. They don't really lend themselves to it. I don't wear much make up, but I do put it on for my job from time to time. I always use baby oil, but I can easily believe that cold cream would do an excellent job too.

Primark's are the best wipes I've found and are £1 for two packs, however I don't think wipes are the best thing for everyday makeup removal, a freshen-up while travelling or when you're too tired and drunk to do much to your face is their limit!

To remove eye makeup the best thing is baby oil on cotton wool, it dissolves mascara really well. Cooking oil will do the job as well!
