Tracking debts

Hey guys

Need some advice.

Over the last few years I have have built up some debt. I have catalogues and loans mainly from when I was working. When I lost my job I stopped paying and started ignoring and binning the letters from the companies and any debt collection companies that the debt had been passed on to. I have also moved house a few times over the last few years. I have no idea who I am owe money to and if i'm honest no idea how much I am owe.

Like anyone I do not like being in this much debt so am trying to get this sorted out so I am trying to find out who I am owe money to and how much I am owe. I have already ordered copies of my credit report to try to get the information off of there but other than that I can't think of any other way to find out my debt. I know some of the companies so can give them a call but there are plenty others that I have no idea about.

Is there any other way for me to trace how much I am owe and who to?

Thanks

Lisa

    Hi,
What about getting a free trial on a credit report like Equifax? This lists what you took out and when you didn't pay. You need to remember to cancel after 30 days though.

    LBM March 2011 - [STRIKE]Joint Debt £46k[/STRIKE]
    Current Personal Debt £0 :j
    Groceries £152.51/230,Pot Balance £1564.02
    Christmas Savings £200, £2 savings £24
  • Thanks for that. I didn't even consider that. Will get on to that now. The sooner I find out what I owe the sooner I can try to sort it.

    Thanks
