Getting Currys to Pricematch?

Hiya all,
Possibly an odd one this- Sometime later in the week, I'm going to try getting Currys to pricematch. As I understand it from reading around, this can be something of a pain to achieve, as they have no official pricematch policy, but both of the other group stores (Dixons & PCW do).
The product in question is an 80gb Ipod video, which I'm hoping to get to £219.00 (Dabs). Dabs are one of the sites to which Dixons operate thier price match policy, and so my current theory on the matter is to go in armed with a printout of the Dixons pricematch page, the page from Dabs & a couple of others of the same price reigon.
Any tips/ things I've forgotten?
Sucessfully got Jessops to price-match in the past, so this isn't greek, just covering all the bases.

Hi
Sorry to disappoint you
I tried getting a price match at a currys store today for a creative vision 30gb (with amazon price) and had no such luck.
They say you can only pricematch with stores with a 10 mile radius of the store and cannot use online prices.
Sorry0 -
To state the obvious, can't you just buy from Dabs?Says James, in my opinion, there's nothing in this world
Beats a '52 Vincent and a red headed girl0 -
They wont match online prices unless its from there own website, and sometimes Dixons and PCW0

Yes, but then I'd have to pay postage too
Dixons online price (sans post) is what I'd have to pay with the post added on elsewhere, and so that would be bordering on acceptable. (A whole lot easier to get Currys to do replacements- From experience!)
PC World also seem to operate a price match policy of sorts, but don't know how far I'd get with that one.

hi my hubby works in currys they will only price match within a ten mile radius and not online prices not even from dixons as they r now an online only company so are obviously cheaperRECLAIM YOUR BANK CHARGES I DID LOL £6K BETTER OFF, £293.00 EQUITA BAILIFFS WON, £600 APPROX WELCOME FINANCE PPI WON,CAPITAL ONE £944.00 WON
Also helped reclaim over £30,000 for family members my claim to fame meeting our own Mr MSE and appearing on his programme :rotfl:0 -
I wouldn't buy anything from DSG (Currys Dixons PC World).0

I went in to Currys with a print out showing Dixons underpriced them by £10 on a Goodmans DVD Player (GDVD148HD) and they price matched it immediately, no problems.
Must vary by store as to whether they match or not."we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist"0 -
They wouldn't pricematch a phone for us because the price difference was too great!!0

Currys online introduced a Price Match policy just before Xmas. All you need to do is call the Telesales team on 0870 609 7493. There is also an online option where you email your price match details to and I'll post the address as soon as I find it.
Key points to note:
1) It's an online price match policy and is NOT available instore
2) It's against a listed set of competitors such as Amazon, Empire, DABS, eBuyer etc (again I'll post the list or link as soon as I find it)
2) There's no change to the current instore policy, that is they don't match pureplay pricing at all & you can in some instances get the store to match a bricks & clicks competitor such as Comets' online price.0 -
Do you have a PC world near you? You could always go to them if Currys say no.
I got my local PC world to price match dabs on a 19" monitor that I bought last Friday. They did however charge me the price I would have paid with shipping from dabs, but it was still better to have it immediately and not have to wait around for a delivery.
I hope this helps.0
