She has given one month's notice because that is what was required by the contract. Does the contract also require one month's notice from the employer? Some do require more notice from the employee (though it doesn't seem fair) - but the minimum would be one week's notice.
If he told her to leave on Thursday that would mean that the minimum pay would be up to and including the following Thursday (ie the week would be Friday to Thursday).
She would also be due any holiday accrued but not yet taken - but there could be ways of getting round that if the employer acts quickly enough.0 -
They will have to pay. HR will iron this out when they meet.
She gave her notice first - therefore agreeing to her contracted terms, there is no response to this from the employer unless it is to amend the contract (pay rise, better holidays, basically persuade her to stay).
Wouldn't worry.
As notice has been given it's possible they won't follow through any grievances though as it's now none of your OH's business.
P.S. They are entitled to ask her to come back to work and finish the notice though.0
