I Wanna Know What the Best Type of Gas Fire Is

Hello. I currently have an inset gas fire (the sort with false coals and naked flames), which unfortunately does nothing to heat my room and guzzles up gas like nobody's business.
The chimney is brick built, and there is currently a surround and hearth etc that i'd like to keep in place. Can anyone please advise me on the best type of fire to go for, maybe you have one that works excellent? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
