desparate
Hi guys
i am going through the awful process of incorporating some payday loans into a DMP
today I received the below response from payday uk and just dont know how to respond - payplan are running my dmp and I have forwarded this to them but do you think I should respond aswell?
I was in a dmp when I fell into the payday loan trap - studpid and foolish I know and believe me no one can beat me up any more than I have done so myself. I am just really struggling with this lender - most of the others now have accepted payment plans but I just cant seem to get anywhere with this one and capital finance one.
any help would be really appreciated
Thank you for your email.
As previously advised we will not be accepting a debt management programme on your account.
This is due to you taking credit with us while you was in a debt management programme.
You will need to contact the office to set up a payment arrangement.
Until a payment has been received your account is not on hold and payment can be tried at any time.

Have you made sure that you have a new basic bank account completely separate from any bank for which the PD company have details?
And has your DMP provider actually allowed you to stay with them, as you are not allowed to take out more credit when on a DMP.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

I got exactlythe same letter and email from them last year. So I just ignored it, and got CCCS to pay them anyway. They then dumped me onto McHall so I paid them instead.
Don't listen to a word they say. You will no doubt get a letter from there supposed legal chimps Keyes Whitlock (a specialist debt recovery company HAHAHAHAH)as well. (same, building, same floor, just along the corridor) threatening all sorts of guff.
Just pay them what you can afford through your DMP and you will be fine.

Hi RAS
What they mean, or did in my case, is that I knew I was going into a DMP when I rolled over my loan. Therfore i was in breach of the terms and conditions of the loan. Therfore I had to pay them first.
I'm assuming it is the same in this case or silmilar.
It's a load of threatening nonsense.

Is that a CC with Capital One?
If so, I had the same problem. They try it on, but you just have to sit tight and don't give in to them. They seem to employ some of the biggest idiots who will be damn right rude to you, but stick to your guns, after all, they can't have what you ain't got.0 -
Well they can both just join the queue.eyeopener2 wrote: »Hi RAS

The whiole point is that you are not allowed to favour any creditor; and if you were going BR rather than doing a DMP it would actually be illegal to have paid them first.
They will come to their senses eventually, just take the crap with a pinch of salt.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Hi Desperate
Ok so you took out a payday loan when you were on a DMP.
This totally blows out the water the spiel that these companies churn out that they are responsible lenders. If they had done any sort of half decent credit check then they should have known that you were on a DMP with payment arrangements to your creditors.
The fact that you were rolling over your loan should be sufficient evidence that you were struggling financially. The fact that you knew you were about to embark on a DMP is irrelevant as this situation is always going to be the case with payday loans as they are used for many people as the last resort before that light bulb moment.
So to cover their own lack of accountability they are now trying to bully and harrass you to pay back the money you have borrowed from them.
The important thing now is to prevent them from trying to take the money anyway.
Have you changed bank accounts and debit card number to something that PDUK do not know?
If you have not then they will continue to keep trying for payment whether you have authorized them to or not.

thank you everyone for your support - my dad is in hospital very ill at the moment and I think I am just feeling a bit more sensitive than usual. I will stick to my guns then, I did write to them saying it is all I can afford and to continue dealing with payplan and that they will receive the payments anyway in the meantime. In answer to the question above I was in dmp when rolling over the loans but payplan were very understanding and incorporated everything into the dmp - I made a huge mistake I know but I was desparate. I just genuinely want to pay off my debt. thank you for reassuring me it really has made me feel better.0
