Alfred Angelo wedding dress

So my friend told me about this woman in my area selling wedding dresses. i decided to arrange an appointment to get some ideas and prices ( i havent been dress shopping yet and i get married april 2012)
when i went in she said to me to try on whatever i wanted so i picked one and it was nice but i wouldnt have bought it there and then and as i was about to get changed i thought oh ill just try on this other one, put it on and absoloutley fell in love with it. i really didnt expect it and thought it over during the night and decided to go for it.
She explained that her mums friend bridal shop was closing down so they decided to buy the dresses and sell them and that some could have been sample dresses - this didnt bother me as there wasnt a mark on the dress and wasnt smelly or anything like that
it turns out to be an Alfred Angelo design - so i looked it up online but couldnt find my dress anywhere (i also dont know how old it would be but thought there would maybe be something) is there anywhere on the dress that should tell me a style. i was also wanting to check that the price she was asking was ok. i ended up paying £280 for it which to me seemed fine, was below my budget and absoloutley loved it so result. but does this sound ok? i dont know if it may have been a china dress - i dont know if they put in the designers labels you know like fake stuff if you know what i mean.
thanks!

Didn't want to read and run, but I too have fallen in love with an Alfred Angelo dress completely by accident.
£280 is very good value, I was watching one on ebay which was £300 and that was a sample dress so I wouldn't worry if I was you, it'll be genuine, but some people are very funny about buying a shop sample so that's why it's at such a good price...
Well that's what I think anyway
Hope this helps and congrats on finding the dress! :T❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤

thanks very much! i just didnt expect to find anything but there goes hours of stress shopping

the dress is so lovely and it wasnt what i was expecting to go for. i was thinking of getting it taken but now may see if a lace up back is better so the money i saved can go towards this

who cares if is any of those things you love it thats all that matters
ring the lady and ask her the name or design of dress if you want to know for self knowledge. I got my dress the exact same way you did, its a £950 dress for £250 and she let me pay in installements (paid off now woo) I love it and cant wait to try it on again! xxx Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue. Only fools are statues every day. (15.09.12 cant wait!)0 -

It's always good to try on different dresses, which you have obviously done if you said it was something you didn't expect to go for, I think when you find the one, you just know and you can't get it out of your head... I had butterflies when I went to try on my dress again, tho I asked the woman to pick out different ones which she thought would suit me, as soon as she let me try mine on I knew, even before I'd put it on again
Plus, now you've got the dress, it's one huge stress gone!

I have two alfred angelo dresses - dress no1 - which i didnt wear had the design number next to the Alfred Angelo Tag and was on their website until very recently.
The 2nd dress which i ended up wearing on my wedding day was an older dress and had no design number on it. I couldnt find it anywhere online either.
It really depends on the year as to whether its online. They only seem to show this years dresses and their timeless styles range which they sell for several seasons.
It is possible that the design tag has been snipped out it being a sample dress, some dress shops dont want potential clients identifying the dress easily and buying elsewhere.
I think you got a good price and dont worry about not being able to find it online. If you've fallen in love with it then just be happy you found the one and dont have to keep searching!:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -
