If he did, and you feel that you are not legally liable, then the only legal way to do this is to use the law i.e raise matter with police and press charges.
If he did not steal the money and you know that, then I would be careful about posting allegations that he did steal the money on an internet website as this could be construed as libel and defamation of character.
In short, you cannot have your cake and eat it - if you don't wish to "shop" (your words) your step-brother then accept the fact that it's your debt...maybe not what you were looking for but it's honest advice
Thank you. This is what I thought. I will not be shopping him in so I will just ignore the collections people and whatever happens, happens. They can't really take anything off me as I said, there is nothing to give. So I guess we both win, he gets let off because I'm too soft, and I don't pay it either, just that I have another flippin' debt around my head.
As for your uncertainty. In all honestly? I've no idea what happened to the money. He admitted to doing a money transfer online despite the funds not being there hence the silly balance as it somehow went through, so what would that suggest? You wouldn't admit to something that you didn't do surely?I know I certainly haven't done it, I know better after the bankruptcy.

So , how can a card authorise if there is no overdraft available ?
I would have gone to the police & never bothered with the parasite again.
You are making a rod for your own back, it will happen again.0 -
You mentioned earlier that he had bought goods and then you said it was a transfer - which one was it or was it a combination of these? How did he manage to get in to your internet banking - do you have the password written down somewhere?0

If someone you didn't know done this would you be so light? If some druggy stole money from your account would you just say oh well I'll pay it myself?
Doesn't really work like that does it?Life is too short not to love what you do.0
