DCA/Credit Files

I made a full and final settlement offer with a DCA which was (after some negotiation) finally accepted. Part of my offer was that my credit file would be update to show the defaulted account was fully settled and satisfied.
Having checked my credit file today, it has been marked as 'partially settled'. Where can I go from here?

How did they word what would happen to your credit reference files in their letter accepting your offer?
A partial settlement marker is normal for a full and final settlement. Unless you specifically got it in writing that they would do something else, then it's probably acceptable.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

They worded it as follows:
1) "I can confirm the default will be shown as fully satisfied once payment of xxx has been received and cleared."

In that case you can dispute the validity of the entry directly with the creditor and through the credit reference agency.

Thank you for your advice.
God, I hope I get to the position where I never have to deal with DCAs ever again. They're scheming little toerags who'll say or do anything to get as much money as possible out of you regardless.0 -
As said, a partial settlement marker is what is "normally" recorded.
So hopefully it's just a mistake that they will quickly correct.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thanks for your help on this. After a couple of emails to the DCA, this has now been put right with Experian.0
