Do Robinson Way think I'm psychic?

Sorry, this is just a rant I need to get out

Been paying these people £20 a month for about a year now. Get a letter from them today saying they're increasing the payment amount. I'm on the dole and can't afford that so I ring them up

"So when do you think you'll get another job?" What an absolutely idiotic question to ask!!! How the bloody hell would I know when somebody decides will decide to hire me? Been trying for most've the last 3 years and not been able to get anything

They started going on about how my account would be reviewed in 4-6 months. After their idiotic question I'm afraid I just went "whatever", which seemed to annoy the woman on the other end of the phone. When she started berating me for it I just said bye bye and hung up

ARGHHHHH!!!!!!! This stress does not help me quitting smoking. lol

I'd forgotten to dial 141 before I called them as well so I'm going to have to watch out for that. It would seem that they've got an unknown number down for my mobile at least....

Next time write to them explaining that your circumstances haven't changed and enclose an income and expenditure sheet to back it up. Send it recorded to ensure they receive it. If they don't like it, tough!! You can't pay what you don't have.

    What rhcp said.

The last thing you should be doing in your situation is letting people who you're actually paying stress you out - life's too short. They've been happy with £20 for the last year, so I wouldn't even bother with income/expenditure - just a letter along the lines of:
I acknowledge receipt of your letter on (DATE) proposing to increase my payments. I am writing to advise you that I will be unable to afford an increase in payments at this time. My current payment of £20/month was agreed as I am currently unemployed and on benefits - this situation has not changed. Please find enclosed a copy of (PROOF OF BENEFITS) as evidence of this.

If you require any further information, please let me know by return. In the meantime, I propose to continue our previous arrangement of £20/month, and trust that this is acceptable. Should my circumstances change, I will of course contact you to discuss further arrangements.

I normally don't deal with any of them over the phone but I'm a bit off guard at the moment. Been yelling at people all day :( I will keep you're example letter though for next time they try and get me to pay more

I did notice them pulling a dirty trick though. My payment was due on the 28th before, and I'd set it up to go out on the 23rd or the next working day. Usually it would get there on the 26th. I noticed that they changed the payment date to the 26th so if the 23rd was a weekend then it would get there late. Very sneaky of them. As a resuly I've set my payment to go out on the 20th instead :P They aren't catching me like that
