Do I have to list absolutely everything?

Hi
In the section where it asks you about your assets including clothing, bedding etc - do you have to itemise everything?
Most of my stuff isn't worth anything - can anybody advise above what value would the OR be interested in?
Thanks

hi there you don't need to list clothing, bedding etc. they are looking for assets that would have a resale value of £500-£1000+ so anything of value - jewellery, paintings, expensive tv's or computers? a lot of people don't have any expensive assets to list.
cars of any value will need to go on the forms in the relevant section0 -
I went declared in Feb this year.
Confused is spot on, resale value is most likely to be a auction price and not full retail. For example I had a sofa which cost 3 years ago £3000, on ebay the BIN price is around £700 however looking at the actual sale price at auction it is more likely to be £300. It depends on you OR but mine was not interested in any household items, it costs them too much to collect, value and sell as they have to pay agents to do this.0 -
I beleive that you are allowed items essential for everyday life eg a sofa, bed, wardrobe etc etc unless they are worth over £1000 if sold. Ie not antiques etc0

yep assetts usually things over £1000 like huge plsma tvs. not everyday stuff. if in doubt you can check when you have your interviewbsc 347:j0

You have to list the car, you don't have the choice.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

If you dont list the car they you will be found out. They can check DVLA records and if they find you have more than one vehicle they will want any surplus. If it is your only car and is worth £300 you have nothing to worry about so list it and you will remain in their eyes 'honest'0

Yep. Especially as there is a separate section on motor vehicles later on in the forms. Not declaring the car in that section would be lying on a court form, and as such an offence.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
