chicken soup problems...

So I bought a chicken and roasted it - no problems there. :D

I boiled the carcass along with some leeks and strained it all. Added potato, sweetcorn and yellow pepper and whizzed it in the blender. Then I added noodles and it was lovely. :j

Saved some for lunch today put it in the fridge.... but it was one complete solid block. Even after heating in the microwave it was completely solid - we're talking knife and fork style.

So what did I do wrong???? Is that just how proper chicken soup goes???

Have you added too many noodles? Maybe they have absorbed all of the liquid and then stuck together??

Soup generally 'firms up' after a night in the fridge. If you've got noodles in they will absorb some of the liquid too. I always look on it as a bonus because you add some more water and you've got even more soup ;)

Also, chicken stock (if it's a good one) will gel when chilled - all that lovely goodness from the bones.

Actually it looked so solid and not at all appetizing that it very nearly went into the bin!!! Then I thought you guys would know whether to save it or not!! ;)
