Wonder Cooker

Options
Just wondering after reading the Remoska and slow cooker threads with a view to saving energy,I was wondering if anyone had a "wonder cooker" something I bought from Lakeland years ago.
Its a lid which can be put on any pan that cuts cooking time down, even frozen meat cooks quickly.
I must admit I have'nt used mine as much as I should have but since fuel is so expensive I thought I would dig it out and start using it again.
What I did cook was quite a success.
I would be interested in anyone's recipes who's used theres more than I have.

I bought one years ago and though it was just a gimmick. It didn't seem to be anything special when I used it.
  • I had a some success but was'nt too impressed either.
Thought it was perhaps me not cookiing the right stuff with it,that's why I asked for inspiration in case I'd missed something.
  • I have one and didn't find it made much difference in cooking times so it is stuck in the back of my pan drawer
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    Not Buying it 2015!
  • I have one, and I do use it, I find it cooks fried eggs quicker on a lower heat, I also use it to cover the pan when I am making bol sauce for spaghetti. Never tried it for anything else though.

I had one and thought it was absolutely useless -- it seemed to be just a lid. I completed a Lakeland questionnaire in which they asked if you had ever bought anything that you felt didn't work, so I said that I thought it was not good - and they refunded the money even tho it was ages after I bought it. That's one of the reasons why I love Lakeland because while thiings occasionally cost a bit more, their customer service is second to none (I do not work for them !)
PS Remoska really good as energy saving method.

I had one of these, too, and had forgotten about it. It really didn't work for me and I ended up using it just as a large pan lid - it fitted the wok very well.

Maybe it speaks volumes that Lakeland no longer sell it?
