    Woohoo!! Well done that lad!

Tip: If he finds rolling a bit "heavy" - fill a bottle 1/2 full with some water and use that as a rolling pin (very cold water if making pastry) because the water will help with the motion. Needs to be a glass bottle though, a plastic one isn't likely to withstand any heavyhandedness.

Please may I have a little slice of the tuna and sweetcorn one - all food needs an official taster :D

    Thanks for the tip :)

I would have sent you a slice, but it all went last night :D

Just noticed on the calendar that school is doing a fundraiser next week. I have to send cakes in, then go along and buy them back to raise funds for Lent. I think I'll get him to bake the cakes.
Here I go again on my own....

Getting back to cheap recipes, I went to a large second hand book warehouse today to find a book on slow cooking. There were thousands of cookery books but not ONE on slow cooking. I did come across a book called Caravan and Holiday Cookery which I bought for £1 as we are going camping this year and this will give me inspiration on what to do with just two rings and a BBQ.

This was one of the recipes which I quite fancied

    Spicy Peanut Chicken

    2 boneless chicken breasts
    1 tbsp smooth peanut butter
1 pinch cayenne or chilli pepper
2 tbsps wine, sherry or port
Mix together the peanut butter, wine and pepper until smooth, coat the chicken in the mixture and leave to marinade for an hour. Heat some oil in a frying pan. Cook the chicken and mixture for 15 minutes, basting frequently, taking care not to burn the chicken. Add more liquid (water or wine) half way through, then reduce to thicken again. Serve with rice or vegetables.

Obviously it doesnt have to be chicken breasts, can use leftover chicken instead :)
