My ancient hoover junior has finally given up the ghost, do you think Comet will accept it as a trade in for this Dyson Animal? I can't see any catches, but doubt if they could refurbish it.

The price is £216 after the 40% discount, exactly the same as the cheapest shopbot version, although this would require postage.

What happens if it breaks down. Do internet shops collect and refund the full postage? Presumably you have to keep the packaging as well?

I think Dyson offer a 5 year guarantee on this, if you could just dump it in the back of a car and take it back to the shop over this time it might be easier? Then again if you bought it via the Internet but collected it in the shop they might use the same shipping system?

go with the cheapest, dyson fix them anyway with their warranty. Our 3 yr old one, hose got a hole in it a few weeks ago, one call to dyson and a new one dispatched very quickly, even sent another new wand in case that had caused the hole. great service and we just bought one when it was on offer years ago, to be honest no idea where we bought it from now :)

I went with Pixmania eventually, with voucher and cashback. It is only a small saving on the other cheaper ones. Annoying sign up though, they keep trying to add a service costing about £30 and you have to go back and delete it.

Just hope your hoover doesn't go wrong then because Pixmania are actually based in France which means that the Sale of Goods Act won't apply. They've also been known to send out instruction manuals written entirely in French.

Yes I remember buying a printer from them with the same problem

Doesn't the Credit Card conditions apply as well as the manufacturers guarantee?

Well it arrived today when I was out, after checking whether it had been sent out last night (No according to the site!). They might have sent me the ball version by mistake which is supposed to be better, but can't complain about that.

The Vacuum seems far more compact than expected which is a good thing really, but feels rather cheap and plastically, a small bit has already fallen off.

It looks like one of those puzzles on the Krypton factor when assembling its various forms. Instructions are mainly graphical and in English so that should help!

The hose isn't really long enough to clean high places without lifting the vacuum, and not sure which of the two heads is the dog hair cleaner, sure my friends had a wire brush version. Still getting used to it, perhaps there is something left in the packaging.

S.A.G act may not apply but if your warrenty/guarentee is with Dyson it'll be their service centers you return it to.

This vaccum seems to be very heavy to push do to the suction, and I have done my back in trying to push it. However someone has told me the non rollerball version is better in this respect, anyone got experience of them?.
