my husband has time on his hands and a newish van how do you find out about courier jobs ive seen a couple advertised that say pay X for our manual register etc and we will get you work.

Your best bet is to find out about depots near you, and who delivers to that depot. then you can look to send off cv's / application forms to them directly.
I wouldn't go with a company who charge you money upfront, but be aware that to do own driver / own vehicle courier work you need to do a lot of deliveries just to break even - some will only pay around 50p per drop (maybe even less) and the bigger companies will supply their own vehicle, uniform etcFeb 2024:
