    I saw this thread earlier but had'nt got time to reply, trying to find it again is like trying to find a needle in a haystack

    Make sure you have that telephone message saved and I would contact the police for starters. This is theft. I would certainly pursue this because your husband has gone to a lot of effort and these ppl think they can just reap the rewards

    Do you think the local press or radio might be interested in running a story? A bit of naming and shaming, or even the threat sometimes works wonders.
    Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!

    Good advice - I would certainly plough on regardless and as for the field owner - he will get his come uppance - you only reap what you sow in life!

    You still have to prove it which is far more difficult when there is no physical evidence of the contract. It's time to take him to the small claims court. I dont think is it theft it's basically like a nonpayment of wages except the wages in this case was the hay.
