Argos Gift voucher stolen

Hello,

I got a camera from Argos for my 30th, and mum saved up for it, and I took it back as slightly damanged and they gave me gitft voucher mid Dec. My wallet was stolen over weekend, with the paper gift voucher inside. I am not sure even it will be used, in any event, I have receipt of the original refund but with no code on it... does anyone have any ideas what I could do? My mum will be so upset when I tell her, and I am too...

Kind regards

Sunset Girl

Im sorry about your wallet but l dont think you will get anything back, its a bit like the bank giving you money and you losing that lm afraid.
  • Have you got household insurance? If you have got an all risks extension to your contents insurance and you are claiming for the contents of your wallet, you should be able to claim it as 'cash'. You will need a crime number from the police. Good luck.

I wouldn't tell her, I think she would be upset too, and does she really need to know? Hopefully you get it sorted out, email them and ask - they might have a voucher number assigned to the receipt for the refund and might be able to tell if its been used or they try and use it. I'm pretty sure they must record all voucher numbers, probably to stop this kind of thing, where someone spends it in store A then claims it was lost/stolen/never arrived (when they did they £10 spending £100) and then get a replacement and spend in store B.

:( can't see anyone being too helpful about it - but worth giving them a call and asking.

Obviously, in the future, it's not a great idea to carry anything of value around in your wallet for weeks...
  • Hi everyone,

Thanks for your messages. It was daft to keep in wallet, it kind of was meant to be spent quickly. And no was not on ebay... I will try my best charm to persuade Argos to let me use my receipt. Lets see.....

    Happy New Year!!!
