Are Costco getting stricter with their policies?

Been a Costco 2 years now. In that time I've returned

2 Vax uprights - both soap triggers failed
1 Xbox 360 - bought deliberately from Costco cause I knew it would break down:rolleyes:
1 whirlpool washing machine - wasn't drying clothes on spin properly.

Replaced the Vax's with the Bissell - works much better than the Vax but occassionaly trips the RCD might find itself back at the returns counter if it's not careful.

i've always been under the impression that these stores had cards as it helped get round legislation like planning and opening hours ....sunday trading would be a good example now
