Angry - is there anything I can do?

Hi

I posted about this the other day but only a couple of people were able to help and there's been some developments so apologies for restarting a thread but hoping someone can help!

I'll try not to ramble:

2 weeks ago I recieved a text message from Roxburghe giving me a reference and telling me to contact them urgently

I didn't know what this was for and so emailed them asking for information. Got no reply

Emailed again - got no reply

emailed again - got no reply

recieved more text messgaes

emailed again - no reply

realised it was likely to be an edf bill of about £40 (no excuse hadn't opened my mail as I beleived bill was settled but apparantly still owed them some) Bill was from May 2011 (so EDF don't hang around before they send to a DCA!!!)

went onto Roxburghe page and paid online in full - attached a note asking for confirmation account was now closed and settled.

recieved an email reciept

no response to request for confirmation account closed

emailed again - no response

Recieved more text messgaes telling me to ring them

Emailed again - no response

Posted on here, someone from edf pm'd me to contact them. I did.

recieved a response to my email from edf stating that "as yet, no payment has been received. If Roxburge had received this payment they would update our records immediately."

got really angry - checked bank and yes payment had gone out, rechecked email receipt, yes full amount gone out.

This evening have emailed edf again forwarding my reciept showing full payment

emailed Roxburghe again quoting what edf said about records being updated immediately.

So that';s the story - I've paid and have evidence I've paid, Roxburghe are still contacting me and have not told edf I have paid. Roxburghe are ignoring all my communications (and then sending letters saying because I haven't communicated with them they'll take me to court etc)

Where do I stand on this? Is there anyone I can complain to? How do I prove to EDF I have paid? EDF are implying I'm lying but I'm not and have proof!

I'm so mad at the moment!!!!

Thanks for any help you can give. Apologies for essay!

Hi, try not to be mad. You have paid and have proof, you have communicated and have proof. Let them take you to court, how silly will they look!!

I would probably write to them both and send recorded, a letter that says i paid in full on ..... Any communication will now be required in writing ONLY.

    Good luck
Reading the stories and advice on here has given me the strength to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and that light will shine bright in......

I would send the letter, make sure it is recorded so you have proof they received it.

Just me maybe but... I would phone them, how much fun would being able to tell them that they are chasing you for something you have already paid, sent numerous emails about and if they carry on contacting you they will be in trouble! Only phone them if you are comfortable doing so, otherwise keep all the paperwork together and wait for them to look very silly.

  • I'd write a letter to them to have it on record that you have paid, including a copy of the withdraw from your bank and demand they close the account and be done with it. You've done your part and really they are just giving you the run around.
